Pakistan record breaking batsman demands ‘Respect’
Former Pakistani batsman, Younis Khan has said that he deserves to be respected for his services to Pakistan cricket.
"These 10,000 runs shouldn't be taken for granted, they are the result of a lot of hard work. Respect them, respect me and also respect those who have even scored one run for Pakistan," said Younis in a press conference, quoted PakPassion.net.
"My 10,099 runs didn't come with the water or they weren't brought by the wind. My 17 years' hard work is not the only thing behind them. Behind these 17 years, there's another 17 years of hard work. 34-35 years of my 40 years have been spent on cricket plus support and hard work from my family, brothers, friends and coaches over these many years have all led to this," he added.
Earlier, Younis donated his 10,000 Test runs-milestone bat to an NGO for the purpose of education.
The former captain, recently announced retirement from international cricket after an illustrious cricket career as he became the first Pakistani batsman to achieve the 10,000 runs feat in Test cricket.
