More than 250,000 people have filed their nomination papers for the upcoming local government elections which would be held in two phases on August 16 and 25 while over 600 candidates have been elected unopposed. Local government elections are being held in the country in 6126 Union Councils and 110 districts.
The elected Nazims and Naib Nazams of the Union Councils will elect Nazims and Naib Nazims of Tehsil and District Councils on September 29.
