Dr Attiya calls on Shaukat

Member National Assembly Dr Attiya Inayatullah called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz here on Saturday and discussed with him various programmes launched by the government for the welfare and well-being of women. The Prime Minister said the government believed that women could play an effective role and contribute towards the development of country.
Dr Attiya appreciated the policy of gender mainstreaming being pursued by the government with special emphasis on the improvement of health and education of womenfolk.
She particularly appreciated the "one village one product" idea floated by the government and urged the Prime Minister to further expand the micro-credit scheme as women were benefiting most from it.
