Soft opening ceremony of Rebuild Afghanistan industrial exhibition organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) was held on Saturday in a colorful manner.
Former president and group leader Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the chief guest on inaugural ceremony.
People from twin city attended the ceremony in large numbers and appreciated the RCCI efforts towards business promotion.
Addressing the ceremony Mian Pervaz Aslam said that the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry was committed to lead the country towards the socio-economic development and prosperity and added that every member of the Chamber was using his efforts, energies and resources to attain the purpose.
He said, besides many other activates the Chamber is holding Industrial
Exhibition in Rawalpindi in order to encourage the local industrial and exporter to take part in the socio-economic uplift of the country and common people.
Former president said although cottage industry in Rawalpindi region is developing but there is still need to promote Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in this region as this sectors helps in reduction of poverty and unemployment. And shares important role in economic development of a country, he said.
He further added that the RCCI has also proposed to the government to set up polytechnic institute in the Rawalpindi region in order to produce skilful manpower.
In his address Hussain Ahmed Ozgen President Rawlapindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the Rebuild Afghanistan Industrial exhibition by RCCI would help to boost trade and commerce activities in the region particularly with Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics.
Hussain Ahmed Ozgen urged on business community of the region to work hard for the development and uplift of the country and use all out of efforts to make the country prosper.
He further said that exhibition provides a source of entertainment for the masses and hoped that people in large number would attend the exhibition like previous years.
President RCCI said that the foreign delegation included Afghanistan, China and other countries are also expected to visit the exhibition.
Ozgen said that RCCI focus for this year will once again towards exploiting the opportunities available to Pakistani trade and industry in Afghanistan. "We have approached manufacturers in the engineering and automotive sector, the banking and leasing sector, cement, he added.
Textiles, Pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and large-scale construction firms", he said.
Dr Hassan Sarosh Akram chairman exhibition mentioned on the occasion that more than 250 various types of stalls of local products are being displayed in the exhibition and added that RCCI and organisers of the event have received massive response by the exhibitors around the country as they were interested to exhibit their products here. Khurshid Barlas also spoke on this occasion. In the end folk dance, cultural show, magic show for children and demo fascinating fire works was also presented.
