Former Prime Minister and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson, Benazir Bhutto has said that the compensation announced for the victims of bomb blast in Karachi was not sufficient and demanded that it be raised.
It is mentioned that the government announced a compensation of Rs 100,000 to the families of those who lost their lives, and Rs 30,000 to the injured of the blast.
In a press statement, Benazir said that that compensation was too meager, and demanded that a minimum of Rs 500,000 compensation should be paid to the bereaved families of the victims, who lost their lives in the blast, and Rs 100,000 to the injured.
PPP chairperson deplored the worsening law and order situation in the country and said it was the direct result of the regime chasing and hounding political opponents, instead of paying attention to the issues of law and order, and problems faced by the people.
She prayed for those who lost their lives and speedy recovery to the injured.
The PPP chairperson also directed the party workers to look after the injured and bereaved families.
