Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has asked Director-General, Rangers, to arrange supply of 150 water tankers to the people of Baldia to tide over water shortage persisting there for a long time.
The governor on Monday took notice of water shortage and power breakdown in the city which has become an endless crisis in the city.
He said that the Rangers should ensure daily supply of 100 to 150 tankers water to affected areas of Baldia so that the thirsty population would not resort to unlawful activities.
Ibad has also instructed Karachi Electric Supply Corporation to keep vigilance on its installation and take such measures so that power breakdown does not take place.
The governor said that KESC should manage its affairs in a systematic way and carry out maintenance and repairs before any mishap takes place.
He said he would expect KESC to restore power supply to all affected areas before nightfall on Monday.
The governor said that the two utilities should remain alert and avoid placing people in distress.
