imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday disposed of a petition regarding payment of electricity dues to K-electric by the Karachi Water and Sewage Board (KW&SB) after assurance by the two parties to resolve the issue with mutual consultation.

The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Faisal Arab heard the case filed by K-electric.

During the course of proceedings, KW&SB Chairman Misbah-ud-din Farid presented before the court a summary approved by the Sindh Chief Minister for payment of electricity dues to K-electric. Rs 25 billion grant had been approved for the purpose, he added.

He pleaded the court to direct the K-electric not to disconnect the Water Board electricity.

On which the K-electric assured the court that Karachi Water and Sewage Board electricity would not be disconnected.

The Chief Justice asked the both parties that it would be better that they should mutually resolve the issue. On which K-electric and KW&SB assured the court to resolve the matter with mutual consultation.
