Sri Lanka's Test batsman Kaushal Silva, who was hit on the head with a ball during a training session, has been taken to a hospital.
Kaushal Silva was hit on the head with a ball while fielding in Pallekeleon Sunday. Although CT scan was clear he was airlifted to Colombo for precautionary observation and tests, Sri Lanka Cricket said.
According to Espn Cricinfo, "Kaushal was fielding at short leg when he got hit," team manager Charith Senanayake said."[Dinesh Chandimal] swept a ball right onto the back of Kaushal's head. He did take evasive action, but still the ball hit him."
The batsman, who was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo as a precautionary measure, is out of danger, media reported.
The two day practice match was part of Sri Lanka's preparations for its tour of England next month. Silva has played 24 Test matches for Sri Lanka and scored 1,404 runs at an average of 31.
