KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships C.VE.R Yokohama, C.V Al-Manamah, M.V Hen Feng and M.V Lake St Clair carrying containers, Wheat and Project cargo were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and Multipurpose Terminal, respectively, on Monday, 4th April-2016.
Meanwhile, another container ship `Maersk Kinloss' also arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at sixty percent on Monday where a total of nine ships namely C.VE.R Yokohama, C.V Al-Manamah, M.V Sea Wave, M.V Hen Fong, M.V Lake St Clair, M.T Ocean Coral, M.T Able Sailor, M.T Chemroad Dita and M.T Okyroe are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Project cargo, Wheat, Palm oil, Chemicals and Furnace oil, respectively, during last 24 hours.
Cargo during last 24 hours stood at 155,572 tonnes, comprising 131,592 tonnes imports and 23,533 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,240 Container (TEUs) was handled at the Port.
Edible oil carrier `Abie Sailor' sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while six more ships C.VE.R Yokohama, C.V Al-Manamah, M.V Lake St Clair, M.T Chemroad Dita and M.T Okyroe are expected to sail on the same day.
Four ships C. Maersk kinloss, M.T Omera Queen, M.T Orient Jasmine and M.T Sea Charming containers, Coal, Furnace oil and Chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal, respectively, on Tuesday, 5th April-2016. While, two more ships C.V CMA CGM Carmen and M.T Central Park are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, 6th April, 2016.
