ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday said that by elections campaign of all political parties in NA-245 and PS-115 would be ended 48-hours before the polling day.
After the midnight of April 5 and 6 all public meetings and political campaign including on electronic and print media, must come to a halt, said spokesman of the ECP.
He said that candidates violating deadline will have to face penalties including imprisonment and fine.
The political parties and candidates have been asked to follow the provision of law and exercise self-restraint so the poll could be held in a peaceful manner on April 7, he added.
