DES MOINES: Democratic White House hopeful Martin O'Malley is set to suspend his campaign after garnering less than one percent Monday in the Iowa caucuses that launched the 2016 presidential race, sources in his camp said.
The former Maryland governor is expected to make a formal announcement in Des Moines, Iowa at 0330 GMT Tuesday, the sources said.
With 82 percent of precincts reporting in Iowa, O'Malley had garnered just 0.6 percent, his campaign eclipsed by former secretary of state Hillary Clinton with 50.2 percent and Senator Bernie Sanders on 49.2 percent.
