LAHORE: Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Central Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said on Saturday that unity was the only way through which terrorism and extremism could be rooted out.
Addressing the delegation of Pakistan Student Council, he said that political leadership should focus on eliminating terrorism, extremism and corruption from the country instead of levelling allegations on each other for their political motives, says a press release.
He said that it was the responsibility of religious and political leadership to play their role for proper guidance of youth.
Responding to questions of students, Ashrafi said that solution to problems which Muslim countries were facing, laid in unity.
Efforts of Pakistan to defuse tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran were commendable, he added.
