Bollywood controversial actress Mallika Sherawat is known for her bold appearances onscreen. Now she’s planning to join politics for women's empowerment.
According to Indian media reports Mallika said in an interview, “If I get a good platform, I would like to join politics. If through that platform, I can do something for the women in our society, then I would like to do it”. Reportedly, inspired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work, the actress said that she won't mind joining politics if she gets the right platform. Women's empowerment is a cause close to her heart.
Mallika Sherawat will be seen in a political-drama film ‘Dirty Politics’ which has created a huge rage among the masses even before its release.
She had wrapped a tri-colour ‘Indian Nation Flag’ on her body on the movie poster in ‘Dirty Politics’. She was seen sitting on the roof of a car with red beacon. Hyderabad High Court had issued notices to Mallika Sherawat and the central government. The petitioner alleged that Mallika's act amounts to ‘obscene use of the Indian flag tri-color’. He further stated that the state emblem of India has been used for cheap publicity and that the poster insults India's honour, media reported.
Mallika Sherawat’s upcoming movie ‘Dirty Politics’ directed by K.C. Bokadia also features Om Puri, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Atul Kulkarni, Ashutosh Rana, Rajpal Yadav, Sushant Singh, Govind Namdev, Charu Sharma and Naseeruddin Shah.
