ISLAMABAD: The exports of surgical goods and medical instruments registered 2.67 percent growth during first five months of current financial year as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
During the period from July-November, 2014, surgical goods and medical instruments worth $138.249 million exported as compared to $134.65 million exported same period of last year.
According the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, about 5,818 metric tons of pharmaceutical products worth $80.843 million exported which was recorded at 6,445 metric tons valuing $66.832 million of same period last year.
However, the data reveled that exports of cutlery remained on down track as its exports came down from $36.340 million to $34.7 million during last five months of current financial year.
Meanwhile, onyx manufactured registered 6.86 percent increase in its export and about 1,170 metric tons of onyx worth $3.521 million exported as compared to 1,621 metric tons valuing $3.29 million exported during same period of last year.
On month on month basis, the exports of pharmaceutical products recorded 44.76 percent growth during the month of November, 2014 as compared to the same month of last financial year.
During last month about 1,403 metric tons of pharmaceutical products valuing $15.6 million exported as against the 1,117 metric tons worth $10.83 million of same period last year.
On the other hand, exports of chemicals and pharma products also grew by 31 percent in month of November, 2014 as compared to the same months of last financial year, it added.
Different chemicals and pharma products worth $66.25 million exported in last month as against $66.4 million of same month last year,the data reveled.
