JAND: The District Zakat office has released an amount of Rs 4.6 million for the needy and deserving people of the area.
According to spokesman of District Zakat Office the entire district had constituted 432 Zakat Committees on village level and this amount is being distributed through these committees.
He said, the amount is being transferred in the bank accounts of the needy people registered with the committees.
The spokesman said that Punjab Zakat Council is considering to transfer financial assistance to the poor through "Easy Paisa" for which data of all the needy people registered with zakat Committees is being sent to the Punjab Zakat Council.
He said the purpose is to deliver financial assistance to the needy and down trodden people at their door steps.
