KARACHI: Two ships C.V Hansa America and C.V Dubai Express carrying containers were allotted berths at Qasim International container Terminal berth No. 7 & 8 respectively at Port Qasim on Thursday.
Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers and edible il also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 57% on Thursday, where eight ships namely ships c.V Hansa America, C.V Dubai Express, c.V Maersk Detroit, C.V CMA CGM Berloiz, M.T BW Mia, m.T Atlantic Glory, M.T Bunga Angsana and M.T GSW Forward were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, chemicals, palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 74,561 tonnes, comprises 48,056 tonnes imports and 26,505 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,116 containers (TEUs) (1,721 imports and 1,395 exports TEUs) were handled at the port during last 24 hours.
Two ships C.V Dubai Express and M.T BW Mia sailed out to sea on Friday morning white another ship C.V Hansa America is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Three ships C.V Rio Bravo, C.V Delmas Keta and M.T Al Salam-II carrying containers and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal an FOTCO Terminal respectively on Friday, while another container ship 'MSC Altamira' is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
