ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) Wednesday assured its unflinching support to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and vowed to protect the sanctity of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Resuming the last day’s debate on country's prevailing political situation, Secretary Information ANP Senator Zahid Khan urged Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif not to accept the unconstitutional demands of protesting persons. He urged the ruling party to strengthen Parliament.
The writ of the government was being eroded rapidly. Action under Article six should be taken against Dr Tahirul Qadri, who is openly violating the Constitution and making mockery of vital institutions.
Welcoming the legislators of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the House, he urged the protesting parties to resolve their issues through dialogue that too in the Parliament. Provincial government is non functional in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as their minister were sitting in the federal capital.
Let the democracy allowed to work as with continuity of system Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) may come into power after next elections.
Pointing out widespread riggings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said ANP also wants reforms in the electoral system. He asked PTI leadership to resolve their issues through dialogue. He said conspiracies were being hatched against the Eighteenth amendment. Bureaucracy is not ready to accept it.
Federal government should look after Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has miserably failed to perform duties.
