imageKARACHI: All-rounder Shahid Afridi, chief coach Moin Khan and batting consultant Zaheer Abbas returned here on Wednesday evening from Dhaka after being ousted by the West Indies in the league rounds of ICC World Twenty20.

This was for the first time in eight-year-old history of the World T20 when Pakistan failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the event.

Batting coach Shoaib Muhammad will be arriving here from different flight.

Senior Manager National Stadium Muhammad Arshad Khan and his team received the player and officials on return from Bangladesh.

Speaking to reporters on arrival at the airport, chief coach Moin Khan said Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to take to take some tough decisions to streamline the affairs of cricket team.

Moin said Pakistan held the upper hand against West Indies by the 17th over of the match.

"Our bowlers bowled badly in the last three overs", he admitted.

"When we batted we failed to use the first six overs properly," Moin Khan commented.

Zaheer Abbas said batting had been Pakistan team's long-standing problem and it cannot be resolved in short-time. "We need long time planning to improve these areas," he said.

He said they will be meeting PCB Chairman Najam Sethi in Lahore on Thursday to discuss the performance of Pakistan team.

Mercurial all-rounder Shahid Afridi said negative approach in the last league round was the reason of Pakistan's loss against the West Indies.

"Our batsmen were unable to produce the batting form which they demonstrated against Australia," he said.

He said captaincy is no issue for him and he will keep serving Pakistan team.

Afridi was of the opinion that there are a good number of youngsters in the team. But they were not used well.
