RAWALPINDI: Lt. Gen. Qamar Bajwa has been made Corp Commander, Rawapindi while Maj. Gen. Amir Riaz was appointed as Director General, Military Operation, ISPR reported on Monday.
The corps commander would take charge of his office on August 14.
According to the ISPR, Lt. Gen. Khalid Nawaz, corp commander, Rawalpindi will retire on Tuesday. He will be replaced by Lt. Gen. Qamar Bajwa.
The new corps commander will assume the charge of his office on the Independence Day.
According to military sources, Maj. Gen. Amir Riaz has been appointed as Director General of Military Operation.
The seat fell vacant after Maj. Gen. Ashfaq was given promotion.
