asif-zardariKARACHI: Coalition political parties have said that they will stand as one voice against the Long March, the media reported on Friday.

 

There was considerable pressure on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) by the government and coalition parties to give up Long March.

 

In a meeting presided over by President Asif Ali Zardai here on Friday, it was decided by the government and coalition parties that they are one against the Long March.

 

Sources said that it also decided in the meeting that Chaudhry Shujaat will meet Minhaj-ul-Quran chief Tahir-ul-Qadri.

 

It may be mentioned that there was considerable pressure on MQM by the government and coalition to give up the Long March.

 

On Thursday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain had said that the party will join the Long March of Minhaj-ul-Quran chief Tahir-ul-Qadri, the media reported on Thursday.

 

In his telephonic address from London at the Lal Qila here, Altaf Hussain said, "We have not broken away from the government", adding, "We will take part in the Long March."
