Ukraine barley export prices fall to five-month low

Bid prices for Ukrainian-origin barley have fallen by $15 a tonne this month to $220-$230 a tonne CPT (carriage pain to) Black Sea as of April 13, they said in a report.
APK-Inform said that a global downward trend had affected Ukrainian wheat and corn export prices.

Brazil's sugar output down 23pc in late March, ethanol down 18pc

Sugar and ethanol producers in the world's largest sugar producing region crushed 4.99 million tonnes of cane in the second half of March, 33% less than a year ago, Unica said. Ethanol production fell 18% to 372 million liters in the period.

Britain's wheat imports set season low in February

Wheat imports for the month totalled 94,956 tonnes, down from 106,531 tonnes in January and the lowest monthly total so far for the 2020/21 season, which runs from July to June.
A slowdown had been expected following the expiration of a transitional trade agreement between Britain and the European Union at the end of 2020.

Ukraine grain exports down 23.7pc so far in 2020/21 season

The exports included 14.5 million tonnes of wheat, 17.3 million tonnes of corn and 4.1 million tonnes of barley, the data showed.
Traders have used 84% of the total wheat export quota of 17.5 million tonnes imposed for the whole 2020/21 July-June season.

Palm jumps 2pc tracking soyoil, crude prices

The benchmark palm oil contract for June delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange closed higher 74 ringgit, or 2.03%, to 3,724 ringgit ($900.82) a tonne, after falling 3% in the previous session.
"We expect total supply to outstrip total demand leading to higher ending stocks of 1.53 million tonnes," he added.

Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange had gained 0.6% to $8,914 a tonne by 0930 GMT, after shedding 0.7% on Monday.
The most-traded May copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed down 0.3% at 65,870 yuan ($10,055.72) a tonne.
