ATTOCK: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Monday said around one million youth had become part of the COVID-19 Relief Tiger Force on the call of Prime Minister Imran Khan which showed that the youth had confidence in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)  government.

Addressing the orientation session of the Corona Tiger Force here, he said the force was playing an active role in the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to contain the spread of coronavirus and keep the people safe from the contagion.

The force volunteers were also helping in the disbursement of the assistance among the needy and deserving people under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme, he added.

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam and officials of district administration were also present on the occasion.

Usman Dar said the Tiger Force would assist the local administration in organizing Eidul Fitr prayer congregations under the SOPs.

He said the youth were the precious asset of the nation and that was why Prime Minister Imran Khan had released special funds of Rs 100 billion to empower them under the Kamyab Jawan Programme.

He said the presence of smart youth volunteers in the ceremony showed that they would prove their worth in the present emergency as well in the future. The registration of one million youth volunteers proved that the young people wanted to work for the country's prosperity, he added.

He said during the Holy Month of Ramazan, almost 100,000 volunteers of the Tiger Force were performing their duties efficiently .

He said the government was chalking out a comprehensive plan to create job opportunities to the specially, particularly the skilled ones, and the volunteers had been tasked to collect the data of unemployed youth at union council level.

Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Malik Amin Aslam said Tiger Force volunteers under the leadership of Usman Dar were serving the nation in the time of hardship.

He said the youth were the front line fighters in the struggle for Pakistan and they were the strength of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Almost 35 percent Tiger Force volunteers were females which was a good omen.

He lauded Usman Dar for floating the idea of Tiger Force as the youth were 65 percent of the country's population.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Attock Ali Anan Qamar, in his welcome address, said some 8,213 Tiger Force volunteers, including 400 females, had been registered in the district.
