A division bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) Tuesday directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit a report on bribery accusation against one of its officers.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh ordered NAB to submit the report on June 11, 2019.
Director General NAB told the court that investigating officer namely Nadeem Sajjad has been suspended on the allegation and an inquiry has been launched against him.
Petitioner, Imran, accused Nadeem Sajjad of asking Rs1 million bribe from him. He said that the investigating officer called him to his house and a builder, identified as Farooq, was with the NAB officer too along with a state agent.
He said that he has submitted a recording of the conversation as evidence in the case.
Meanwhile, a division bench granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) a two-month deadline to submit progress report pertaining to a case of illegal appointments in the education department.
