LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday regretted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had increased the prices of electricity and fertilisers in the first 20 days of its government.
Addressing a press conference alongwith former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal and others here, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced that a parliamentary commission would be formed to probe opposition's allegations of rigging, but three weeks have been passed and the commission had not been formed yet, he added.
He alleged that people had not elected Imran Khan but he secured power through rigging.
He criticised the government decision to increase gas prices. About the accountability and austerity measures, initiated by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shehbaz clamed that advertisements worth millions were given for the auction of luxury cars, adding that accountability should be held across-the-board.
Regarding funds for Diamer-Bhasha Dam, he said that there was no need to make an appeal of funds; rather investors should be encouraged to invest in the mega project.
There should be no delay in genration of power from the Basha Dam, he added.
