imageJessica Alba’s start-up business ‘The Honest Co’ which was initiated back in 2012 has hit the bulls’ eye by raising $70 millions, making the company worth almost $1 billion.

‘The Honest Company’ offers non-toxic, family friendly products such as baby products, bath and skin care, cleaning supplies, and other household goods.

According to media reports, “With the help of Alba’s celebrity status, the ‘Honest Company’ has grown rapidly and it products are now sold at Whole Foods, Target, Buy Buy Baby and Nordstrom in the US, although roughly 80 per cent of sales come from customers who subscribe to a monthly delivery service of nappies and baby wipes”.

The ‘Sin City’ star founded the company in 2012, inspired from her own pregnancy and idea of giving her baby a better start with the right products.

Propelled by a monthly subscription service for diapers, Honest Co. is on track to rack up $150 million in sales this year, triple last year’s business, co-founder and CEO Brian Lee told the Wall Street Journal in an interview. As Honest Co. works toward an IPO, Wellington has the capacity to guide the company and provide insight on the metrics and traction needed to go public, media reported.

Alba was named as Fortunes ‘Most Powerful Entrepreneur’ in 2012.
