imagePop superstar Katy Perry performed another smash unity song ‘Rise’ as an Olympic theme song, produced by hit maker Max Martin on Friday. This song is going to play as soundtrack in NBC's opening ceremony for 2016 Olympics coverage of the Rio games, throughout the event.

"I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together," Katy said in a statement.

While sharing her feelings in another statement she said, “This is the song which obsessed me from few years, and now finally I have completed rather than place it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite.” According to Rio2016.com

“I know that together we can rise above the fear in our country, and around the world. I cannot think of a better example than the Olympic athletes, as they gather in Rio with their strength and fearlessness, to remind us how we all can come together, with the resolve to be the best we can be. I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together. I am honored that NBC Olympics has chosen to use it as an anthem before and during the Rio Games,” she added
