Custom inspector Chaudary Ejaz who was probing into Ayyan Ali’s money laundering case has been killed by unidentified gunmen in Rawalpindi. The dead body has been sent to District Headquarter Hospital in Rawalpindi for postmortem, local media reported.
Custom officer Ejaz had recovered $500,000 from super model Ayyan Ali while she was trying to board a plane from Benazir Bhutto International airport. The recovered money was also put into Ejaz’s custody for further investigation.
On the other hand, Model Ayyan Ali has been sent on a judicial remand for the twelfth time since her arrest on March 14.
The court while hearing a bail petition filed by Ayyan Ali in the currency smuggling case on Wednesday, the lawyer representing the model claimed that she was unaware that the travelling outside the country with $500,000 was a crime.
After hearing the arguments, the banking court has reserved its decision on Ayyan’s bail petition.
