imageISLAMABAD: Pakistan Weightlifting team is waiting for a green signal from the Indian High Commission (IHC) to participate in the Commonwealth Youth, Junior and Senior Weightlifting Championships scheduled to be held at Pune from October 11 to 16.

Talking to APP, Amjid Amin Butt, Honorary Secretary, Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF), he has submitted all the required documents to the IHC and now there are just waiting for a reply and visas from the commission.

"I was given a very welcome in the IHC and I am hopeful that we will get the visas soon," he said.

When asked that there is very less time left for the championship, Butt said we have everything ready at our side to participate in the event but it is just the reply and visas from the IHC we are waiting for now.

He said the probable weightlifters list for the championship includes Muhammad Shahzad, Nooh Butt, Usman Amjad, Abu Sufyan, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Tahir, Umer Lone and Azhar Amir.

He said the officials to accompany the team comprise Amjid Amin Butt (Manager), Muhammad Ilyas Butt (Coach) and Hafiz Imran Butt (Chief Exective Member).
