imageMULTAN: State Minister for Water & Power Abid Sher Ali said on Wednesday the incumbent government was committed to overcome the energy crisis by end of 2017.

Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating 132 KV Shujabad grid station, he said that various projects of 8300 megawatt were being launched in collaboration with China to resolve the energy crisis while 3600 megawatt electricity would be generated through LNG.

He said that 950 megawatt electricity from Neelum-Jehlum hydel power project, 2800 megawatt electricity from Tarbella dam phase 4,5 (extention) would be added into the system by 2017.

He also announced one month basic salary as a bonus for the employees for completing the grid station before the time period.

PML-N MNA, Javed Ali Shah said that the Prime Minister's team was striving hard to resolve the energy issue and added that the installation of power transformer, two high tension feeders and low tension feeders was gift for the people of Shujabad from the government.

CEO MEPCO said that a 20/26 MVA power transformer had been installed at 132 KV Shujabad grid station with cost of about Rs five million.

Later, Abid Sher Ali announced bonus for MEPCO employees on the eve of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitter and directed the MEPCO adminstration to provide the bonus to employees before Eid.
