imageTPL Trakker, Pakistan’s largest tracking service provider, and the company behind products like TPL Maps is planning to go global, as the company eyes to expand its service to Bangladesh, Iran and Sri Lanka, over the next three years.

“My short-term objective is not to look at maps just for Pakistan, but for all areas where people are not active,” said TPL Trakker Ltd chief executive officer Muhammad Ali Jameel in an interview to Bloomberg. Highlighting the company’s vision to grow into a global mapping force Jameel added “We will become a significant player in the mapping space.”

The Pakistan based TPL Trakker now rivals the likes of Alphabet Inc.’s Google in map business, with an aim to deliver the most frequently used mobile applications by providing services such as food delivery and e-commerce.

“The objective is to have world class maps and have data that is semi-local, but will have better quality than anybody else,” said Jameel.

“The objective is to get people hooked onto the maps because of the features,” he added.

TPL Maps is a mapping application that offers live traffic updates, intelligent routing, 3D maps, voice navigation and category based searches in Pakistan. The app soon become popular in the local market after its release.
