imageKARACHI: Where four ships C.V Ilse Wuif, C.V Al- Safat, M.V DL Dahlia and M.T Lahore carrying containers, 55,000 tonnes coal and 67,896 tonnes furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal,Iran ore & Coal Berth and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim during on Tuesday.

Meanwhile two more ships with containers and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the Poet at forty three percent on Tuesday, where six ships namely C.V Ilse Wulf,C.V Al- Safat, M.V Fareast Harmony, M.V DL Dahlia, M.T As Olivia and M.T Lahore are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, coal, phosphoric acid and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A record cargo handling was achieved at the Port at 146,849 tonnes comprises 110,141 tonnes imports and 36,708 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,057 containers (TEUs) ( 1,306 imports and 1,751 exports TEUs) were handled during last 24 hours. Three ships C.V Al-Safat, M.V Fareast Harmony and M.T As Olivia sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships C.V Ilse Wulf and M.T Lahore are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Three ships C.V CMA CGM Musset, C.V Maersk Detroit, and M.T Karachi carrying containers and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday, while bulk cargo carrier 'Azur' is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and two more ships C.V AL-Oman and C.V MSC General are due to arrive on Thursday, 12th February-2015. –
