ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested sixteen outlaws from various areas and recovered a total of 6.480 kilogram hashish, five pistols, 25 wine bottles and 10 cans of beer from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.
On a tip off, Station House Officer of Sabzi Mandi police Asjad Mehmud and ASI Muhammad Saeed Akhtar under supervision of ASP Industrial Area Yasir Afridi raided at the hide-out of dacoits near sector I-10/1 and arrested four dacoits. They were identified as Yousuf resident of Charsada, Pervez Khan resident of Peshawar, Zar Muhammad, Syed Jan residents of Kohat and police also recovered two pistols as well as ammunition from them.
One of their accomplice Sher Azam managed to escape during the raid and his search is underway. During the preliminary investigation, these dacoits confessed to committee several dacoities in the area of Sabzi Mandi and Hassan Abadal police stations.
Sub-Inspector Shamas Akbar from Crime Investigation Agency of Islamabad police nabbed a drug pusher Syed Marjan from `Dhok Paracha' area in Golra police limits and recovered 6.250 kilogram hashish. ASI Muhammad Akbar from Anti-Car Lifting Cell arrested a car thief Syed Badshah and recovered a Suzuki Mehran car (LZJ-2321) from him which was found stolen from Lahore.
Sub-Inspector Hakim Khan from Aabpara police apprehended two persons Sultan and Afzal besides recovering 230 gram hashish from him while Sub-Inspector Khalid Mehmud arrested Tahir Mushtaq for having four wine bottles.
Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ishaq from Bhara Kahu police nabbed a thief Abrar Ahmed and recovered stolen items as well as 30 bore pistol from him while two other accused Imran and Yunus Bilal were arrested for having four wine bottles and 30 bore pistol respectively.
ASI Zulfiqar Ahmed from Margallah police apprehended Azhar Mehmud for possessing ten cans of beer while ASI Shahid Asghar from Golra police arrested Ejaz Akhtar nabbed for having six wine bottles.
ASI Khan Baig from Bani Gala police arrested Asad Rasheed for having 12 wine bottles while Sub-Inspector Zulfiqar Ali from Shehzad town police apprehended Basharat for possessing 9 MM pistol.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
