 LAHORE: Six more patients including three women suffering from dengue died in hospitals on Saturday, raising the death toll to 87 in the city.

Jehanzeb (22), a constable of Elite Force who was among Chief Minister Punjab's security squad, lost a battle against dengue while Tuffail (70) and Ayyaz Bhatti (20) of Gulshan-e-Ravi expired in Services Hospital. A 75-year-old woman Sardaran Bibi succumbed to the dengue virus at Ganga Ram Hospital Saturday morning. Sumaira (23), who was admitted to the hospital with positive dengue reports, breathed her last. Rukhsana (24) of Mian Mir admitted to Mayo Hospital a week ago died in wee hours of Saturday.

City hospitals are packed with people for dengue test and treatment. Suspected dengue victims are frequenting hospitals but only patients with critical condition are admitted. The majority of patients are not satisfied with treatment provided to them in hospitals.

According to the health department data, around 8,700 people were infected with the dengue virus in the Punjab capital.
