imageISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources on Friday directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to complete inquiry against Pakistan State Oil as soon as possible.

The committee met here at Parliament House, chaired by Senator Muhammad Yousaf. Deputy Chairman Senate Sabir Ali Baloch, who is also member of Senate Committee, Senator Rozi Khan and Senator Abdul Nabi Bakhsh also attended the meeting.

Secretary Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Managing Director PSO, representative of FIA, Establishment Division and National Accountability Bureau were also present in the meeting.

Members of the committee said that the prolonged inquiries affecting the smooth work of the departments, adding that "if FIA has proof against PSO, they should be made public otherwise the case would be closed". The committee also directed the FIA to complete the inquiry within two months.

Earlier, Establishment Division officials briefed the committee regarding the appointment of incumbent Acting MD Pakistan State Oil.

FIA and NAB officials also briefed the committee regarding the status of cases pending against PSO.
