ISLAMABAD: High Commissioner of Pakistan in Singapore Syed Hasan Javed on Sautrday said that Pakistan's young talented professionals would take the country to greater heights.
The High Commission was speaking at a networking dinner, he hosted in honour of 50 young Pakistani professionals and entrepreneurs working in Singapore, said a message received here.
Javed said that Pakistan was blessed with a talented young population with 67 per cent under 30 years of age.
This demographic dividend gives Pakistan an advantage of two percent in GDP growth over its regional competitors, he added.
He said the Pakistani youngsters have set world records in O&A Level examinations, Computer Software Applications (Apps), Medical research, bio-engineering and sports fields.
Pakistani professionals are valued globally due to their hard work, intelligence, passion, loyalty, discipline and integrity.
The rise in higher education enrollment by 1200 percent over the past decade 2002-2012 as well as the rising female empowerment is good omen for the country, he added.
Some 4,000 Pakistani professionals and their families live in Singapore.
They are mostly in the banking and financial sector, logistics and shipping education and medical fields.
