imageLAHORE: Punjab government is taking solid measures for expanding the scope of employment of Pakistan's workforce in the labour markets of Malaysia, Far East and European Countries.

Pakistan's labourers and workforce are more hard working and talented than that of any other country, stated by provincial Minister for Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar while talking to the delegation of a Malaysian company at Social Security Head office here Tuesday.

Secretary Labour Capt. Muhammad Yousaf (Retd), Vice Commissioner Shahid Adil and other senior officials were present on the occasion. The Malaysian delegation comprised Director Mass Rapid Transport Company Fazalullah Hassan, Deputy Director Zarif Zanel, General Manager MMC Gamooda Aadil, Patra Aadil, Consular of Pakistani High Commission in Malaysia Syed Azhar Hashmi as well as representatives of TEVTA and Vocational Training Institute.

According to a hand out,the delegation would consider the demand and importance of factory workers and experts associated with construction in Malaysian labour market. Members of the delegation shared that skilled work force and labourers were required in thousands for the landmark project of Mass Rapid Transit in Public Transport Sector of Malaysia.

The minister said that Punjab government has trained and skilled workforce which has completed the metro bus project within shortest possible time.

He disclosed that the industrialists, traders and investors all over the world will also visit Pakistan and attend the international labourers conference to be held in April next year with the cooperation of International Labour Organization and will consider the prospects of demand of Pakistani labourers in international market.

Head of Malaysian delegation Fazalullah Hassan said that mason, steel fixers, shuttering carpenters and other workers are required for their project. He also lauded the steps taken by the Federal and Provincial government of Pakistan with regard to welfare of the industrial workers and labourers.

He said that Malaysia is interested in Pakistani workforce associated with auto-industry and construction sectors. He assured that Malaysia would extend its full cooperation to Pakistan in this regard.
