women 400ISLAMABAD: Self defence expert Tariq Ali has said that women should take self defence training for their protection and to avoid any kind of potential threat.

Talking to a private news channel on Thursday, Tariq Ali said that self defence training hardly took around three months with duration of 20-30 minutes daily.

He said that the training was inter-related to physical fitness as there was a trend in society to visit gym for the purpose.

Likewise, self defence training can also be included in this routine, he added.

He emphasized that parents should be friendly enough with their kids especially daughters in talking about these sensitive issues as moral support of family gives a lot of confidence to the children.

To a question he said that if women feel insecure in certain atmosphere such as public places or offices, they should not lose their confidence and be positive and strong with their body language as well.

He pointed out that the weakest point of the body for an attacker is face and lower parts, which can be tackled through techniques like hand-lock and throwing.

He said that if women feel any kind of danger in their surroundings they should start shouting out for help without even bothering what people think about them because at that moment their safety will be more important.

He suggested that women should avoid going out at night time without any emergency and choose rather crowded place to go.

He warned women about going to deserted places as such kind of incidents usually occur at abandoned or deserted places.
