Raja-ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has directed the Capital Development Authority to take steps for allotment of land to the Air University to facilitate its educational activities.

The Prime Minister gave the direction in a meeting with Sheikh Waqas Akram, Minister for Professional and Technical Training, at Prime Minister House here on Monday morning.

The Prime Minister reiterated his government's resolve to promote quality education in the country.

He said that educational institutes of the country would be facilitated in every possible manner to impart education at par with international standards.

The Minister for Professional and Technical Training briefed the Prime Minister about various steps being taken by the ministry to improve the standard of education in the country.

The minister conveyed to the Prime Minister the desire of the vice chancellors of leading national universities to meet him and discuss with him proposals for improving overall system of education in the country.

The Prime Minister agreed to meet the vice chancellors of top ten universities of the country to ascertain their views.

Sheikh Waqas Akram also apprised the Prime Minister about the latest position of the National Internship Programme (NIP) for the youth in the country.

He thanked the Prime Minster for his keen interest in the programme.
