pak skorea 400KARACHI: Mr. In-Ki Lee, Consul General of South Korea said that Pakistan and Korea are geographically very important countries and they should empower each other.

He further stated that on the recommendation of FPCCI, one year multiple- visa would be issued to Pakistani businessmen.

In a meeting with leaders of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry here, he also showed his satisfaction over the bilateral relations between Pakistan and South Korea and said that since his posting in Pakistan he is observing significant change and improvement of relations.
He added that Korean people love Pakistan because its first five year economic plan was advised by Pakistan which was the turning point for Korean economy. Korea is the 13th highest in GDP in the world and per capita income is nearly US$31,700.

He said that they understand energy problem of Pakistan and would like to help.
Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani, President, FPCCI said that Pakistan and Korea have strong relations and volume of bilateral trade between the two countries has increased significantly. Pakistan exported to Korea republic worth US $737 million while imported from Korea worth US $ 818 million.
President FPCCI also discussed some proposals for the promotion of bilateral trade which included swift Visa issuance, joint ventures in the areas of textile, food processing, technical and technological collaborations, frequent exchange of trade delegations, promoting new products by organizing exhibitions. He also emphasized to conduct joint study by FPCCI and National Chamber of South Korea to find new product for bilateral trade, new markets and hurdles that impede the bilateral trade between Pakistan and South Korea.

The meeting was attended by Haroon Rashid, Sheikh Shakeel Ahmad Dhingra Vice Presidents FPCCI, Nasir Uddin Sheikh, Chairman, FPCCI Standing Committee on Fairs and Exhibitions, Sohail Nisar, Chairman, Pak–Korea Business Council of FPCCI, Sheikh Imtiaz, Syed Masood Alam Rizvi, Secretary General FPCCI, Mir Nasir Abbas, Director General International Affairs FPCCI, and representative of Korea Trade Centre (KOTRA) Karachi.
