While terming British travel advisory a great initiative, the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday urged the Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, Foreign Missions abroad to highlight this with zeal to motivate the others to follow the suite.

LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that British travel advisory has proved that Pakistan is a land of peace and one of the safest places for travel, investment and business for the foreigners. It would boost the confidence of foreign investors and tourists, he said.

He appreciated the British government and British High Commission for taking favourable initiatives for Pakistan. He also hailed Pakistani government and security agencies for proactively tackling the law and order challenges and paid tributes to their sacrifices for making country a wonderful and safe piece of land.

The LCCI chief said that Pakistan has paid heavily in past but now the things are moving in favour of the country and paving way for a bright future. He said that the UK has allowed tourists and businessmen to travel to various parts of Pakistan. This major happening would definitely flourish the tourism sector, airline business, hotel industry and improve the economic health of the people in northern areas which have a great attraction for the tourists, he added.

He said that the recent travel advisory is not a common thing as United Kingdom is one of the biggest economies of the world therefore entire world should be given a clear message by the top authorities and foreign missions abroad that no security concerns in Pakistan and foreign investors should come here with confidence and avail lucrative investment opportunities. Irfan Iqbal said that incoming of foreigners in Pakistan would help explore huge untapped potential of tourism sector which would not only help generate much-needed foreign exchange but would also help highlighting soft image of the country.
