Death anniversary of Benazir, New Year celebrations: IG Sindh directs extraordinary security arrangements

IG Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Thursday directed his subordinates to ensure extra-ordinary security arrangements on the occasion of death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto and New Year celebrations, across the province. He was presiding over a high-level review meeting on the law and order situation here.

Senior police officers stationed at the Central Police Office participated in the meeting whereas all the additional IGs, DIGs, district SSPs etc participated the meeting through video link.

IG issued necessary instructions to all Range/ District/Zonal Officers to ensure security arrangements, besides smooth traffic regulations on highways and roads on December 27, as the political and social figures including devotees from Sindh and other provinces of the country will visit Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to pay tribute to their party's martyred leaders.

In view of the large number of participation, he said all security measures including patrolling, picking, snap checking/surveillance should be carried out properly. He directed the police to have a check around all roads leading to the Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to ensure law and order.
