After jumping 28 places in World Bank’s Index, PM vows Pakistan will soon be among top investment places

• Congratulating his govt, PM said 'another of their manisfesto commitments has been fulfilled'.
• Pakistan has achieved 'biggest improvement in its history' in World Bank's Ease of Doing Business Index 202 rankings, PM said.

Following Pakistan jumped 28 places to be placed on 108th position in World Bank's Doing Business 2020, Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated his government and said 'another of their manisfesto commitments has been fulfilled'.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the PM said Pakistan still has a long way to go. He further said that before the end of 2020, Pakistan will become 'one of the top places for investment'.

"Pakistan achieves biggest improvement in its history in World Bank's Ease of Doing Business Index 2020 rankings. Over last decade, Pakistan's ranking had slipped more than 50 places. Now we have improved 28 places - from 136 to 108," PM tweeted.

I want to congratulate all the people in our govt who worked hard to make this happen. But we still have a long way to go. InshaAllah before the end of 2020 Pakistan will become one of the top places for investment.

Pakistan has been placed among the top 10 countries with the most notable improvement in Doing Business 2020. Pakistan sits alongside Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Togo, Bahrain, Tajikistan, Kuwait, China, India, and Nigeria in the index.

The report states that Pakistan developed an ambitious reform strategy, setting up a 'national secretariat as well as a prime minister's reform steering committee to ensure progress'. It also stated that Pakistan made starting a business easier by expanding procedures available through the online one-stop shop.
