PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports reached 20.3 million tonnes in the 2018/19 season that ended on June 30, down 4pc from 21.0 million in 2017/18, official data showed on Thursday.
EU barley exports came to 4.35 million tonnes in 2018/19, down 24pc from 5.7 million in 2017/18.
EU 2018/19 maize imports totalled 23.6 million tonnes, up 33pc from 17.7 million tonnes in 2017/18.
Total EU grain exports in 2018/19 reached 32.0 million tonnes, while imports stood at 30.2 million, the data showed.
EU weekly grain export and import data are provisional and can be adjusted in the three weeks following their initial publication.
