The Karachi Port handled 194,808 tonnes of cargo comprising 131,989 tonnes of import cargo and 62,819 tonnes of export cargo including 8,027 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargos of 131,989 tonnes comprised of 68,445 tonnes of containerised cargo; 18,138 tonnes of bulk cargo and 45,406 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 62,819 tonnes comprised of 31,535 tonnes of containerised cargo; 645 tonnes of bulk cargo; 23,839 tonnes of clinker and 6,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,027 containers comprising of 4,966 containers import and 3,061 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,446 of 20's and 1,656 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 103 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,031 of 20's and 320 of 40's loaded containers while 182 of 20's and 604 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely KMTC Dubai, X-Press Annapurna, Analipsi Lady and Lia carrying containers, mogas and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. KMTC Dubai, ER Felixstowe, OOCL Shanghai, Irenes Reliance, Celsius Miami and FLC Fortune carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 170,154 tonnes comprising 169,869 tonnes of import cargo and 285 tonnes of export cargo including 3,342 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 169,869 tonnes includes 56,250 tonnes of LNG; 8,250 tonnes of palm oil; 22,600 tonnes of coal; 12,430 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 4,645 tonnes of chemical; 2,481 tonnes of bitumen and 63,213 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 285 tonnes includes 285 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,342 containers comprising of 3,227 containers import and 15 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely NCC Narma carrying palm oil sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely British Contributor carrying LNG is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as sixteen vessels viz. Star Osprey, Venus Halo, Meal Serapo, Genco Aquitaine, Thor Madoc, Indigo Flora, Nord Traveler, Heroic Striker, Diamidis, Alani, Analipsi Lady, BW Panther, Bani Yas, Rustaq Silver, Maritime Suzanne and NCC Sudair respectively carrying codensate, cement, canola seeds, coal, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. Los Angles Denver, Venus Halo, Star Osprey and Rustaq Silver carrying containers, cement, codensate and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday
There was one ship namely Los Angles Denver carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while two more ships namely Torrente and Maersk Brooklyn carrying containers are expected to arrive on Thursday.
