Host Habib University recorded a convincing 4-1 win against HFC in the opening match of eight-team Leisure Leagues small-sided football league here at Habib University Ground. Abrar was the hero for the host side as he scored a brilliant hat-trick while Naufil scored one goal. Hassan Sherwani scored a consolatory goal for the losing side.
In another match, HnD team registered an 8-2 win against Grenades FC. Ozair scored a hat-trick while Jasim braced for the side. Abeer, Araqam and Naufil scored one goal each for the winners. Sameer and Ibrahim scored one goal each for the losing side.
Jahanzaib knocked a hat-trick to help Re-United overpower Cordoba by 4-1 score. Farhan scored the fourth goal for the winners. Moeed scored Cordoba's solitary goal.
Meanwhile, Dortmund received a walkover against Hazara Strikers FC.
On the occasion, Head Coach Habib University Mohammad Amir praised for organizing the league, which will help youngsters get involve in healthy activities like football. He said that such leagues help develop interest of the youth in sports, which is very important for a healthy society.
