Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's 138th birth anniversary will be observed on December 25 (Thursday). Government has announced December, 25 as a public holiday. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who was also Pakistan's first Governor General, was born in Karachi on 25 December 1876. In 1913, he joined the Muslim League, which had been formed to stand up for the rights of Indian Muslims and he became its president in 1916.
In the morning on December, 25, change of guard's ceremony will be held at Quaid-i-Azam's tomb in Karachi while politicians, officers of armed forces, government officials and renowned personalities will lay flower wreath during the day and a large number of people from different walks of life will visit his tomb to pay him tribute and remember his services for the country. Special seminar, walks, talk's shows and discussion will be organised on the occasion at different government and semi-government organisations.
Rawalpindi Arts Council has arranged a photographic exhibition here on Wednesday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. More than 100 rare pictures of the great leader are exhibited in the art gallery.
Jinnah Iqbal Fikri Forum Chairman, Rana Abdul Baqi flanked by Naheed Manzoor and RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition, which was also attended by a large number of people from different walk of life. Addressing after inaugural ceremony, Rana Abdul Baqi said 'work, work and work' was the message of the great leader and he succeeded in achieving a separate homeland Pakistan, for the Muslims of subcontinent by adhering to this philosophy. "He (Quaid-i-Azam) laid out the principles of unity, organisation and faith for the nation to make headway on the path to progress and development," he added.
Naheed Manzoor said that Quaid-i-Azam was the great leader of the subcontinent and our youth must follow his teachings. RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed said that aim to display rare pictures and historical documents pertaining to Quaid-i-Azam was to highlight different aspects of his life that united the Muslims of the subcontinent for acquiring a separate homeland. The exhibition will continue till December 28. Different educational institutions will organise several shows to present the spirit and zeal to give tribute to the founder of the nation.
