LAHORE: Pakistan Hi-Tech Hybrid Seed Association has shown optimism that the coalition government led by Shehbaz Sharif shall prepare and priorities micro and macro economic agenda keeping in view the current pulse of economy, trade and industry to boost industrialisation, increasing exports, reducing trade deficit, easing and facilitating business friendly regulatory policies.

It hoped that the government will also work for reducing volume and rate of taxes to give new direction to the economy of Pakistan in the budget 2022-2023.

Pakistan Hi-Tech Hybrid Seed Association Chairman Shahzad Ali Malik (SI) and members of the Association in a joint statement here on Thursday conveyed their congratulations and best wishes for Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on taking oath of the office of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and pray for his success.

Malik said it is matter of pride for us all business community of Pakistan especially for Lahore Chamber as Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif hail from Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and was the most successful President from the Founders Group. Sharif took lead to establish the full fledge Research & Development Department in LCCI during his tenure which is now a symbol of success for this premier and leading Chamber of the Country.

Shahzad Ali Malik said that we were always impressed with the way Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif worked beyond normal hours and prioritized economic and wellbeing agenda in a befitting manner. His time management and optimum utilization of resources is proof of his past accomplishments. He said the challenges are not new for the Prime Minister and he had been interacting with the business community on multiple issues and managing to resolve successfully.

Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif really enjoy full support and backing of business, trade and industry leaders which would be an added advantage and strength for furtherance of his ambitious economic plan.

Shahzad Ali expressed that his new economic team shall comprise the best of best from across Pakistan and includes good number of successful businessmen from trade and industry and economists.

Chairman Association drew the attention of the Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif towards the recent levy of 17% Sales Tax on the seeds and strongly demanded for immediate withdrawal if Pakistan really wants to reduce prices of essential food items and ensure food security. This levy has perturbed not only CPEC Phase 2 China Hybrid Agriculture Model, potential local and foreign investors in Research & Development and Transfer of Technology of Hi-Tech Hybrid Seed but also the local Companies involved in Seed Sector, farmers and agri-based millions of poor workers. The prices of essential items will further rise if levy is not withdrawn forthwith.
