KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 179,221 tonnes of cargo comprising 110,047 tonnes of import cargo and 69,174 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 110,047 comprised of 74,263 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 13,484 tonnes of Bulk Cargo and 22,300 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 69,174 tonnes comprised of 41,508 tonnes of containerized cargo, 4,279 tonnes of Cement, 23,106 tonnes of Clinkers and 281 tonnes of Rice.Approximately, 9347 containers comprising of 4924 containers import and 4423 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1774 of 20’s and 1305 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 270 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1050 of 20’s and 401 of 40’s loaded containers while 1203 of 20’s and 684 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Some 07 ships, namely Gulf Barakh, Independent Spirit, Kmtc Colombo, Prince 4, Northern Guard, Syros I and MT Lahore have berth at Karachi Port.

About 03 ships namely, Arman 10, Diyala and Lady Flora have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Around 10 ships namely, Chem Sirius, Teera Bhum, X-press Anglesey, Jolly Cristallo, Jwala, Kaixuan II, Andrea Victory, MT Quetta, Hyundai Grace and As Clementina were expected to reach at the port on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM

Meanwhile five more ships, Cariboo, Yang Ze 6, RT Star, Admore Sea Venture and Fairchem Sabre carrying Coal, Soya bean, Chemicals and Edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of the Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

A total of nine ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, a bulk cargo carrier ‘Hai Phoung 86’ left the Port on Tuesday morning, while six more ships, Seago Istanbul, MSC Malin, Teera Bhum, Songa Winds, UACC Consensus and Jbu Schelde are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 84,424 tonnes, comprising 50,964 tonnes imports cargo and 33,730 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 2,862 Containers (1,092 TEUs Imports and 1,770 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There 10 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, five ships, Agapi S, Rui Fu An, Cariboo, Admore Sea Venture and RT Star & two more ships, Seamax Norwalk and MSC Maeva scheduled to load/offload Rice, Talcum Powder, Cement, Coal, Palm oil, Chemicals and Containers are expected to take berths at MW-1, MW-2, PIBT, LCT, EVTL and QICT on Tuesday, 15th March-2022.
