LAHORE: Former convener of MQM Farooq Sattar has said that a single political party cannot resolve the issues facing the country and highlighted the need of national resolve to bring the nation out of crises. The government and opposition parties were not paying attention to the woes of the masses hit by the pandemic.

He was talking to media along with Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq at Mansoora on Wednesday. He has called for initiation of dialogue among the political parties to achieve the objective.

Speaking on the occasion, the JI Chief said the present the government started crying foul even after passage of 22 months in power, breaking the tradition set by its predecessors who had made the same noise after completing their tenures.

He said the prime minister seemed confused and least concerned in resolving the problems of the common man. He said the country witnessed flour, sugar and petrol crises in the past few months, proving the ruling party's inability to run the affairs.

The so-called main opposition parties, on the other side, were not raising the genuine issues facing the country. Infect, he said, one of the main opposition parties was trying to save its provincial government while the other engaged is in settlement of cases against its top leadership. It was proved that the so-called mainstream parties failed to deliver each time they came to power, he said. They lacked vision and their leadership belonged to the class which had nothing to do with the problems of the poor, he added.

To a question, he replied the present government was intentionally trying to scandalize PIA as its main objective was the privatization of national flag carrier. He said the PTI already failed to honour its commitment about making the Pakistan Steel Mills a profitable organization and now it planned the sale of the PIA.

Farooq Sattar visited the JI headquarters to offer condolence on the death of JI former chief Syed Munawar Hassan. He paid tribute to the religious and nationalistic service of the late leader and prayed that may his soul rest in peace.

Earlier, MQM former convener visited the Lahore Press Club and met with office-bearers. He talked about the current political situation of the country.
