Babar smashes record books yet again

Published January 19, 2017 Updated January 19, 2017 07:33am

imagePakistani batsman Babr Azam recorded his name in history books on Thursday , after he became the fastest Pakistani ever to reach 1,000 runs milestone in One Day Internationals (ODIs)

Babar Azam who had a pretty off season with the bat in the recently concluded Test series against the Aussies, found his rhythm in the games limited overs format hitting 84, at Perth during the 3rd ODI against the hosts.

The 22-year-old right hand batsman, who made headlines last year after scoring three back to back hundreds against West Indies, has now become the joint-fastest player to 1,000 runs and sits in the coveted company of West Indies legend Sir Viv Richards, England's Kevin Pietersen and Jonathon Trott, and South Africa's Quinton de Kock.
